Headlight Restoration, Night Visibility, Restored

Arizona sun is brutal on plastic headlights. UV bakes them yellow and hazy until your brights barely outshine a flashlight, and the whole front of the car looks tired. We machine-polish cloudy headlights back to like-new clarity at your driveway, then seal them so the haze stays away.

Why It Happens Here

The Sun Eats Headlights

Modern headlights are plastic, and plastic plus 300+ days of Arizona UV is a bad combination. The factory UV coating breaks down, oxidation sets in, and the lenses turn that familiar milky yellow. It happens to nearly every car out here eventually, it's not neglect, it's just the desert.

This isn't only cosmetic. Hazy lenses scatter your headlight beam, which means less light actually reaches the road. Driving the 60 or the 202 at night with foggy headlights is genuinely harder, and less safe, than it needs to be. Restoration fixes both problems at once: you see better, and the car looks years newer.

We're fully mobile, so this gets done in your driveway or office parking lot. We bring our own water and power. Serving Tempe, Scottsdale, Mesa, Chandler, and Gilbert.

Pricing

Starting at $120 for the pair. Condition matters, lightly hazed lenses are quick, deeply pitted ones take more stages. Call or book online and we'll give you a flat price before we start.

After the Restoration

The UV sealant we apply slows future hazing, but nothing stops the Arizona sun forever, plan on refreshing the sealant every year or two to keep the lenses clear. Parking in shade or a garage when you can makes a real difference. And skip the cheap DIY kits in between: most of them strip the remaining factory coating without replacing it, which is why the haze comes back worse than before.

Pairs Well With

Clear headlights plus a ceramic glass coating on the windshield is the full visibility package, see better, in every direction. It's also a natural add to a Luxury Refresh. Browse all targeted upgrades on our add-ons page.

Who It's For

If your night driving has gotten sketchy and you can't remember the last time your headlights looked clear, this is for you. Selling the car? Cloudy headlights scream "old" in photos, restoration is a cheap facelift. And if you just bought a used car in the Valley, check the lenses: there's a good chance this is on the to-do list.

Headlight Questions

How long does the restoration last?

The UV sealant we apply slows re-hazing significantly, most people get a year or two of clear lenses, longer if the car is garaged. Nothing stops the Arizona sun forever, but this buys you a lot of time versus doing nothing.

Why not just use a cheap kit from the auto parts store?

Those kits can help for a few weeks, but they don't remove deep oxidation and they have no real UV protection, the haze comes right back. We machine-sand, machine-polish, and seal. It's a different result that actually lasts.

Can you do just one headlight?

We can, but we don't recommend it, a restored lens next to a hazy one looks worse than two hazy ones. We price the pair together so they match.

There's moisture inside my headlight, will this fix it?

Honest answer: no. Condensation inside the lens means the housing seal has failed, and polishing the outside won't fix that. We'll tell you straight if that's what we're seeing, and what your real options are.

How long does it take?

Usually around an hour for the pair. We do it at your home or office, we bring our own water and power, so you don't go anywhere.

Will restoration fix deep pitting and rock chips?

It improves them, but it can't undo physical damage. Sanding and polishing remove oxidation, yellowing, and light surface pitting, that's what makes 90% of headlights look bad. Deep rock chips gouged into the plastic are permanent, and we'll tell you during the inspection if yours are beyond what polishing can fix. Most of the time, though, what looks like "destroyed" headlights is just heavy oxidation, and that comes right out.

Is it better to just replace the headlights?

Sometimes, and we'll tell you when. If the damage is inside the lens (moisture, delamination) or the plastic is deeply pitted through, replacement is the honest answer. But new headlight assemblies run hundreds of dollars per side plus installation, while restoration is $120 for the pair. For the typical Arizona haze-and-yellow job, restoration gets you most of the look for a fraction of the cost.

Do you do taillights too?

Yes, same process, same UV sealant. Taillights haze up just like headlights in the Arizona sun, and cloudy taillights make the whole rear of the car look tired. Just mention them when you book and we'll add them on.

The Process

From Cloudy to Crystal

Mask & Prep

Paint and trim around the headlights get masked off, and the lenses are cleaned so we're working on a true surface.

Sand

Multi-stage machine sanding cuts through the oxidized, yellowed layer, this is where the real correction happens.

Polish

Machine polishing refines the lens to optical clarity, removing sanding marks and bringing back the shine.

Seal

A UV sealant goes on to protect the fresh surface and slow future yellowing from the Arizona sun.

Inspect

We check clarity from every angle and compare both lenses so they match before we pack up.
